Penny Lane Arabians is a breeding program built and maintained by mother-daughter duo Kelly and Kristen Bowman. The program is focused on Halter and Performance horses who embody form to function and versatility. It is a revitalization of the family program which produced countless Regional winning Half-Arabians in Eastern Ontario, mainly sired by the wonderful Canadian Reserve National Champion Stallion - Gailic. The program is highly focused on Hunter Pleasure horses as well as a heavy focus on outcross bloodlines. Our program strives to maintain high quality while infusing bloodlines that contain minimal lines to popular main ring sires such as *Gazal Al Shaqab, Huckleberry Bey, Ali Jamaal, Padron and Bey Shah so that our horses are useful outcrosses for those lines whenever possible. Although we're focused on outcrossing, we add modern and popular bloodlines whenever we believe it will add to our quality and sires such as Eden C and Showkayce+ have been instrumental to our program.
Since starting in 2008, Penny Lane Arabians has bred Regional and National Winners and Champions in Halter and Performance including Regional Champion- Armando Del Besson (x Besson Carol), Regional Reserve Champion - Versaes (x SF Veraz) and National Champion Scottsdale Champion, Scottsdale Reserve Champion and Multi-National Top Ten Halter and Hunter Pleasure winner - Fazio (x Eden C).
Our early program selections and foundation mares included: FS Betty Grable (x Padrons Psyche), National Champion - PGN Show NTell+ (x Showkayce), National Champion Producer PGN Kailicia (x Kaiyoum++), National Champion Producer - Swanah (x Verscace), Regional Champion and National Top Ten - Flames Rhapsody (x Bask Flame), Scottsdale 1st Place - Showanna (x Showkayce) and Youth National Champion and Multi-Reserve National Champion - Baskskokhette+.
In 2011, we sought to buy and stand our own stallion. We purchased and imported 3x Reserve National Champion - Sol Debut (Solstice x Nisrs Natevka) as our foundation sire. This wonderful, successful outcross sire brought our program success and consistent quality - so much so, we've only sold two of his foals! Sol Debut has enjoyed immense success as a show horse including U.S. and Canadian Reserve National Champion Futurity Colt and U.S. Reserve National Champion Stallion AAO. When we purchased Sol Debut, he hadn't had a foal in many years and only had 15 foals to his name. Among those foals were countless Regional and National winners and Reserve National Champions. We're proud to have more than double his lifetime foals while under our ownership and of the quality, not quantity, he built his stallion career on.
We imported two additional stallions in 2017 and in 2018 for Sol Debut's daughters and to carry the torch as he neared retirement. Those stallions are: Sivmen B (x Menes) and Aafanazi SF (x Aabsolut). In 2018, we imported the 22 year old Menes stallion, Sivmen B into Canada from California thanks to the generosity and friendship of Brent Stone of Enzo LTD. We followed Sivmen B for eight years and were enormous fans. We bred four mares to Sivmen B in 2018 and in 2019, we were blessed with three purebred fillies (the only Purebred Sivmen B fillies in North America!) and one Half-Arabian filly. We were so happy with these foals we kept them for our program. In 2019, we bred two more mares to Sivmen B - the German Riding Pony - Malibu and the purebred mare - Fleur De Lune (x Shafe Psuede). These foals are expected in 2020. In June of 2019 we made the difficult decision to part with Sivmen B to friends Mark and Leslie of Marlie Farms, Ontario, Canada. We've retained breedings and four foals for our program.
The second stallion we imported for our Sol Debut mares was Aafanazi SF, a son of Straight Russian - Aabsolut and the Rushan daughter, Radient Love SF. Aafanazi SF is bred by the great Singinghearts Farm and boasts strong Russian/Polish breeding, further access to the Bairactar sireline and an exciting blend of old blood with all the modern icing one could ask for. He is our current head stallion and is available to the public for 2020 and 2021. His first Canadian foals are expected in 2020.
We're a small program focused on quality, ability and potential to contribute to the breed for years to come.
